Bond, James Bond, Bounces Back

JAN 12, 2011 - EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer have announced that they will be making the 23rd version of the James Bond franchise.

They said that Daniel Craig will return in the role of the suave spy when Bond blasts back into cinemas in November, 2012 - 50 years after the 1962 original Dr. No. However, it cannot be confirmed if Craig would be free to take on the role as he has been slated to star in the remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, as well as the summer action flick Cowboys & Aliens.

Production is set to begin in late this year with Oscar-winning director, Sam Mendes (American Beauty) helming the project. The title of the movie and details of the story were not unveiled. This announcement follows MGM's emergence from bankruptcy last month, which had forestalled putting a new Bond movie into production.
