UIP Drops Funny People and Coraline

OCT 2, 2009 - United International Pictures (UIP) has announced that they will not be releasing Funny People and Coraline in Malaysia. No reason was given in the announcement sent to the media.

Funny People is a comedy about stand-up comedian George Simmons (Adam Sandler) who learns that he has a terminal disease. The movie, directred by Judd Apatow, also stars Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann. The movie opened Stateside on July 31, 2009.

Coraline is a 'dark' animated fantasy about a girl (Dakota Fanning voicing Caroline) who discovers an alternate and idealised version of her life and later its sinister secrets. Somewhat like Alice In Wonderland caper. The movie, pictured below, was released in the US in February.
