The Buzz Is Now On The New 'The Dark Knight Rises' Trailer
Christian Bale and Anne Hathaway in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES |
MAY 3, 2012 - After Marvel's The Avengers, it's time to turn our eyes to Gotham City where the Bat logo beckons. The buzz is now on the latest The Dark Knight Rises trailer which preceded The Avengers in cineplexes starting today.
This trailer incorporates elements of a daring aerial escape that some fans saw in a special IMAX prologue of the film, scenes of devastation in Gotham City, as well as more footage of Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle/Catwoman, and Joseph Gordon Levitt as a cop only known as John Blake.
The concluding chapter in the director’s acclaimed trilogy sees the Caped Crusader tackling Bane, one of his most powerful foes. Played by Tom Hardy, Bane is a criminal mastermind whose strength is boosted by a mysterious chemical concoction. From the trailer, we get an idea of where the story will head, and once again it seems that director Christopher Nolan and company are sticking with the darker themes brought up in the first two films.

“The Dark Knight Rises” opens worldwide on July 20. To whet our appetite, a fictional police report on the so-called “anonymous vigilante” known as “The Batman” has just been posted on TheDarkKnightRises.com. The fake report asks citizens to tweet or email any graffiti showing support of Batman and lists locations all over the world — a clever marketing campaign for the movie.
